Blogger Apprentice // Task 2

Hello!

Let's get to it!

Task 2~ The Copyright Infringement Fiasco ~ Pt 1

Suppose a blogger has copied and pasted literally your whole blog post into theirs, you're very upset, and feel you should do something about it.

This is called copyright infringement

Considering you want to do something about it, you decide to...

A) Shoot them an email

B) Go on their blog and write a comment asking nicely If their post is a little similar to yours
C) Stand up for yourself and write a comment about how annoyed you are and such

Task 2~ The Copyright Infrigement Fiasco ~ Pt 2
But wait! After you've either done 'A)', 'B' or 'C', that blogger then denies committing copyright infringement, and is even rude to you about the fact. You're now so annoyed that you just would not mind at all having a fully blown argument with her online, but you calm down, and decide to...

A) You'ved cooled down slightly, however, you start to sound a little more annoyed in your reply

B) You think that's there's no point in trying to get her to admit it, so you reply with...

C) You give them proof that they did commit copyright infringement, either privately or on their blog...

Whatever option you picked, (A, B or C) is your task.

Good luck!

Cancelled...

Hey,

This basically isn't a post. I just wanted to say that Blogger Apprentice is cancelled...People entered but didn't seem to participate? So, I think I'll leave if for another day or just not do it at all? No one seems to be doing anything, so I don't think there's much point carrying on. Honestly, that was the first contest of mine that was simple. I thought it would go pretty well. I don't usually post this time...And I'm not doing something on my laptop or anything...This is pretty much just a note for all the readers..

Bye..

Blogger Apprentice

Hello bloggers!
I'd like to introduce to you...

Blogger Apprentice is not only a contest for fun, but it will also help you in real blogging situations that the majority of bloggers come across, along with the basic skills you need to have..Which are not so easy!

How it works

These tasks are (hopefully) going to get that professionalism, which I know you all have, into your writing for the Blogger Apprentice.

What will the tasks be like?

The tasks will be either preparing, or developing your professional skills. It'll be a mixture of basic things like commenting, and the obstacles you may come across in the blogging world.

Noor's role in the contest

In some tasks, Noor will write articles to help you with your tasks. At the end of the contest, she will mark you guys' amazing work with me.

Me and Noor will also be emailing you some gentle critiques of your blog, but that's nothing to worry about ;)

You email me your tasks

{shinenelevate@gmail.com}

And the prize is wha...?

The prize is literally a Blogger Apprentice trophy.

 Enrol Here

And now for the first task!

------

BLOGGER APPRENTICE ~ TASK 1 ~ COMMENT PROMOTING

Comment promoting is definitely something you need to learn how to do well, especially when you're new to the blogging world. There is the good promoting and the bad promoting, the 'OK' if certainly not as common.

You have two tasks: One is to write a comment promoting your blog on a poem post, and the second is to write a comment promoting your contest. Good luck.

Article ~ By Noor

Hello bloggers! Noor here with the first task :D Today we’re doing comment promoting. This is a very important topic that I’d like to address, because it’s a key part of blogging that will come up A LOT in your blogging career if you want to get your blog out there.

Be subtle. You want to be chill with your promoting, and you don’t want it to seem like promoting. There’s many ways to comment promote, some more subtle than others, but you don’t really want to flat out say what you want in the comment.

For example, if you’re doing a contest on your blog and you’re promoting it:

DON’T: Make the comment all about your contest.

Hey! I’m having a writing contest on my blog. Check it out? [insert link]

This shows that you didn’t read the person’s post at all. It appears as rude and making it seem all about you.

DO: Talk about the post, make it meaningful and show that you care and give a subtle hint to your contest.

Your words blow me away everytime, _____.  Also, since your writing is simply stunning, I was wondering if you wanted to enter my writing contest, although I’m afraid you’d crush the competition :P

This shows that you care and that you’re making a kind compliment towards their skill and their post.

And this doesn’t just have to apply to promoting a contest, just promoting your blog in general.

The best way to promote your blog is to just leave your link. Chances are, they’ll check out your blog if you drop a link, and maybe even follow.

DON’T: Ask them to check out your blog.

[insert comment]

Check out my blog! [link]

This is just silly and sounds quite desperate.

DON’T: Ask their readers to check out your blog.

[insert comment]

Hey Noor’s readers! Check out my blog: [link]

DO: Leave a nice link.

You can use a website such as Easy Hyperlinks to leave a nice looking link at the end of your comment that looks like clean, instead of www.alittlebitofsunshineblog.com which looks messy.

That’s all I have today folks! Onto you with the task :)

Good luck!

Stop! Before You Make Another Blog, READ THIS ;)

Today I'm back with a blogging tips/rant kind of post.

Before I start, I'd like to tell you that instead of having a boring Natural Hair Page, I thought it would be cool to have a newsletter instead. Just enter your email and these new articles will be sent to your inbox, suscribe when you're ready!

SO NOW I BEGIN *tries to do a french accent*

There are bloggers who are seen as perfect. There are bloggers who are seen as good, but-she/he's-kinda-better. There are bloggers who are just starting out. There are bloggers who barely blog

Guess which ones I'll be helping out today?
No, not the newbies.

The ones who barely blog.

From my experience, there are two different types of bloggers who barely blog ~

There are the ones who barely blog...Because they just barely blog, and there are the ones who barely blog (more than the ones who barely blog) and make new blogs, but unfortunately never use those either.

Guess which ones I'll be helping out today?

The ones who barely-blog-but-blog-more-than-the-ones-that-barely-blog-and-like-to-make-new-blogs-but-never-use-those-new-ones-either-unfortunately

Incase you're wondering why my title is so demanding, it's because I am actually being demanding. I do want you to stop.

For a while, this blog may seem more like a rant, but It's meant to be helpful as well.

The-fun-feeling-of-making-a-new-website
Yeah I know. It is pretty cool to make your own little thing on the internet, but it's not coo -l to totally abandon it when you're still online and everything. I know, I know, blogging isn't easy, but there's no point in making blogs if you aren't gonna use them.

Hi! I'm ______ and this is my new blog. I quit blogging for a while, but I am back! I'm definitely gonna try and post more on this one.

*gets someone to do a blog design*

*does a few short posts*
Hi! Today I'll be doing a February Favourites
___

__

Bye!

Commenters: Hey! Hope you stay back this time, this post was cool, looking forward to more..

And basically commenters will say this over and over again, except in different words each time.

*post is barely 1/4 of a page*

Hey! Today I'm doing the ___Tag!

*post is barely 1/4 of a page*

Bye!

Hi! I've decided to start a new blog, *leaves link*

New-blog-new-start

Sorry. But...NO. YES, this is a new blog...But this most certainly has not anything to do with a new start. In fact, you never had a new start, and when you did, it didn't last for long at all.

Hi guys, welcome to my new blog! *writes an about post*

Work on one blog at a time, stop switching, it doesn't do you any good unless you're dedicated to it.

The maximum blogs I think a blogger should have is 3, anymore would be wayyy too much.

This-time-i'll-do-it

If you're determined, STAY determined...Come on! You can do it! No-one is stopping you.

Everyone has a different blogging story, but if you can't stick to one website at the beginning, then it might not even work out that amazingly, but everyone is different right?

Thanks for reading!

Makayla-Grace: Guest Post | 4

Hey guys!

I'm back with another awesome guest post from the one and only, Makayla-Grace!

Blogs ~
MAKAYLA-GRACE (personal)

Hi lovely humans reading this! My name's Makayla-Grace, but just call me Grace. I'm 10 and here's something you guys should know- I have Leukemia.
But, anyway, let's not talk about Leukemia right now. Here are some (very random) facts about me:

1. My best friend is a blogger, too. (Rukiya designed her blog; her blog is 'Kelsi')

Rukiya speaking : Sorry to interupt, but that's what you call a correct and good use of a semi-colon!

       2. Nature Photography= about 75% of my life. Although I can't exactly go outside right now (stuck in a hospital blah.), I still love it. What I always do is put my phone (it's my camera) up to a window and just take a picture.

3. I LOVE MUSIC. My favorite bands are All Time Low and The Summer Set (go look up their music on YouTube, it's awesome)

4.I have a HUGE imagination

5. I believe in unicorns (I know, I'm so crazy)

6. I collect American Girl dolls. I have 3, Alyssa (TM #33), Ella, and Marilisa (TM 42).

So that's about it, folks! So, go check out my blog and (possibly) follow! Bye,

BEFORE YOU GO...

Why don't we all wish Grace luck in hospital!?

Good luck Grace, you're an amazing, talented girl and never forget that. We wish you the best of luck in hospital, and we know that you will get better soon!
NEVER give up on your dreams, and NEVER let anyone bring you down :)

A Lifestyle Post : Product Shout Outs

Hey guys!

Today will be a lifestyle type of post, in my blog survey, some people did ask for different posts, and here it is :)

(No, this is not me. You can think it is though XD)

Company - Shea Moisture
These products are also available to buy on Amazon, for cheaper ;)

  Curl Enhancing Smoothie
This product helped me a lot when my curls started to get poofy and you couldn't really see them. Okay, basically when my hairs a mess, which I'm sure all of you experience XD. So yeah, it helped gain back it's moisture, and bring back it's awesome curls ;) I recommend this to anyone with afro hair.

 Style Milk
This product isn't exactly the best, but what I did find was that when I used it and then brushed my hair with the denman brush, my curls came back! Yay! *Note* the only time I actually use these products is when my hair is a mess, or has gotten dry over the day...Oh when it's a mess!

 Restore Leave-In Conditioner
This product is amazing when your hair is currently lacking moisture, ugh, so annoying. Well I kinda exaggerate and moan about how dry my hair gets sometimes, but actually it's moisturised...Okay whatever!

ALL I KNOW IS, WHEN MY MUM PUTS MY HAIR IN BRAIDS AND I TAKE THEM OUT, UGH, THAT'S WHEN I USE THE PRODUCTS BECAUSE MY HAIR GETS ALL ANNOYING AFTER IT'S IN BRAIDS. OKAY THAT'S ENOUGH!

Improvements
My hair has grown tremendously, I finally see more thickness!
Sometimes me and one of my friends like to see how long it would be if it was straight, so we stretch it gently and it goes to my waist...Well almost, just a tiny bit more to go!

It grew a lot when I went to Barbados, I found that when I stretched it, it was much longer than before :)
So thank you Shea Moisture!

My skin is pretty sensitive, and if I don't use the right things on it.

BOOM
When I was younger I used to have something called eczema, which a lot of people have, so I don't think I'll have to explain what that is.  Anyway, my mum found an awesome product called shea butter, and IT WENT!
This is not the one from The Body Shop, which isn't very good. I mean, everything in there makes me sneeze, and if I used anything on my skin...Oh how much I'd (predictably) scratch...
So where can you get it from?
I don't know if you American's, or even British people have heard of a shop called Pak's...But that's where I get mine.
I'm sure there's other places to get it though.
How do I know what shea butter you're talking about? What is it like?
You're looking for a very thick, yellow/creamy cream. Do not be fooled and buy the one that is lotion, it's not the real shea butter.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find a picture of the shea butter I'm talking about, but you'll know it when you see it, I guess.
Right so eczema's gone...

Okay, maybe it's kinda arkward that I'm about to tell what body soap I use...But it's still a skin product right?

Sanex Zero% - shower gel
This product is simple.
There's not much to say about it.
Because it's simple.
I reccommend it to people with sensitive skin.

Hope you enjoyed my post everyone!
Just so you know, I have left all the products (except the shea butter which I couldn't find) down below. All of them have links to the websites if you're interested!

And a couple more things...
I havn't forgotten about your guest post! They're still in my inbox like they will still be posted ;)

If you havn't filled out my survey,
https://shinenelevate1.typeform.com/to/rnjZOH

I scored awesome in my maths test, 7c whoop whoop! Okay that's not so interesting XD

Bye!

Sneak Peek: How The Blogger Choice Awards 2016 Will Be Different

Hello!

*-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------*

No the Blogger Choice Awards isn't starting yet, this is just information about how it will be different this year!

1) I Will Actually Know What I'm Doing

Last year's BCA was incredibly messy. I had all these different categories, all these different forms, all these different polls...It just wasn't that organised, and probably not that clear to you guys. But now I know how it's gonna work, I guess I was just quite eager then :)

2) You don't have to enrol...

I guess I just LOVED making forms for random things then, I'd literally just discovered google forms, and so just wanted to see how it worked, but it definitely wasn't necessary. No one had to enrol, it wasn't a contest.

3) The run-for-a-category situation

So I make people vote, then I decide to make ANOTHER form in which people can run for a category. Nope. I really was obsessed with forms then. When people are already voting, why is there a need to suddenly run for a category? WHY YOUNGER RUKIYA?

4) All the posts and confusion

That's CERTAINLY not gonna happen again

"YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO VOTE FOR THE SAME PERSON TWICE IN THE SAME CATEGORY.

IF YOU PROMOTE THIS EVENT, YOU GET TO NOMINATE 3

PEOPLE FOR A CATEGORY!

THE AWARDS WILL BE HELD ON THE 20TH SEPTEMBER! IF YOU FEEL MORE COMFORTABLE SENDING ME YOUR NOMINATIONS THROUGH EMAIL OR GOOGLE+, DON'T HESITATE TO DO SO! YOU NOMINATE PEOPLE IN YOUR COMMENT ON MY BLOG.

IF YOU WANT TO RUN FOR A CERTAIN

CATEGORY, CLICK THIS. POLLS WILL BE UP

FOR YOU ON MY BLOG!"

Ugh, I can't read this without getting annoyed...Let me make the writing smaller to make me feel better *gets out wand and yells a long spell*

I mean, the purple and red writing in capitals...I'm just not feeling that.

5) No buttons for participating...

I mean, okay you've participated...But don't you just wanna take your awards and go? I spent so much time last year on the BCA that it was almost getting ridiculous.

6) Optional interviews...

If you want to be interviewed after the BCA, you can. If you don't and just wanna take your awards and go, then that's perfectly fine, I will not be offended.

7) Not too much of these, '!!!'

I know I was excited back then, but honestly, if these '!!!' were annoying someone I'd understand why, not in a rude way, but I don't like too many of, '!!!' either!

8) NO SCARY-BIG SIZED CERTIFICATES...Like dang

XD. Sorry. I don't want you guys to think I'm a rude person, because I'm not. I'm pretty unique, and don't have a bad attitude.
But anyway, the certificates were horribly big, not sure what I was thinking then. Smaller ones next time...That's for sure.

------

Maybe there were some more things I should of mentioned in this post *rubs head...Well hair*, but trust me, it will not be so unorganised next year :)

Thank you so much everyone,

Bye!
